Consumer Protection Act, 1986 - Vehicle Manufacturer Directed to Pay for Harassment to Consumer
In a recent case, a person who had bought a vehicle manufactured by opposite party had filed a complaint against the opposite party which was a vehicle manufacturer. In this case, it was argued that the vehicle started giving problems.
Finally it was held that the compensation was to be given to the buyer- consumer of vehicle and vehicle manufacturer was directed to pay to the buyer-consumer and the case of vehicle manufacturer was found to be without "merit".
After explaining the scope of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 and looking at the evidence and finding the decisions cited by the vehicle manufacturer to be not applicable here, the decision was finally given in favour of the vehicle buyer consumer.
