In the recent Order [citation : Muskan Praveen v State of Uttarakhand [2021] GCtR 1224 (Uttarakhand)] [Refer WP(Crl) 843/2021], where allegedly two persons "who were in love" but belonged to different faiths, were being threatened by their relatives and there was allegedly, threat to life of both the persons, Hon'ble Uttarakhand High Court had held, at para 3, that "Undoubtedly, persons, who are major, have a fundamental right to choose their own life-partners, even inspite of the opposition voiced by the family members." and police protection was directed to be provided to both the persons in facts of this case. This case is yet to be disposed of.
