S. 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act is "to give rigour to commercial transactions" : Conviction Set Aside

Cheques, Dishonour of Cheque and Law : Acquittal by HC

In the recent Judgment [citation :  [2021] GCtR 1194], where the accused had filed the petition, the said petition filed by accused has been considered and the conviction has been set aside. The accused had also challenged the sentence.

The matter was related to allegations of S.138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. 

The Judgment explained the objective of S.138 of Negotiable Instruments Act.

Final Result : ACQUITTAL
