The offence of noise pollution is a cognizable one under The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981, therefore, if any such cognizable offence is informed to the police authorities, they are duty bound to register an FIR under Section 154 Cr.P.C (Section 173 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023). - Abhilaksh Sachdev v.
