Disclosure of Information under RTI Act, 2005 Explained

Disclosure of Information under RTI Act, 2005 Explained

In case of Kamal Bhasin v. CPIO [2024] GCtR 3440 (Delhi) the principle that emerges is that the Recruitment Policy of Government Organisations are not exempt from disclosure under RTI Act, 2005. It was ultimately held that information about educational qualifications of government employees is not an exempted information and such information has to be disclosed under the RTI Act, 2005.

This clarifies that the name of employee, his current posting and educational qualifications cannot be denied under the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005.
