 Legal Principles of Delay in Litigation and Absence of Officials 

Whether absence of concerned junior officials due to election duty, time taken in seeking legal opinion from Advocate, time taken by various officials in seeking approval of the Competent Authority of the Company, or because the Competent Authority was on leave can become a ground to condone the delay by Companies in litigation ?

Issue stands answered in HPSEB Ltd v. HCL Infotech Ltd [2025] GCtR 1672 (HP) where it was rightly held that "though law of limitation may harshly affect a particular party but it has to be applied with its entire rigour when the statute so prescribed."
