*Enhancement of Compensation Amount*
Grounds on which compensation amount under MV Act, 1988 can be enhanced explained in Union of India v. Mandakini Suresh Makasare [2026] GCtR 217 (Aurangabad, Bombay) where compensation amount of more than Rs. 25 lacs was granted. Section 166 of the Motor Vehicle Act makes it clear that every “legal representative” who suffers on account of death of a person in Motor Vehicle accident, should have remedy of realization of compensation.
