Many cases are filed which are related to Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
In one of the interesting propositions in context of said Act, laid down at page 5 of Meters and Instruments Pvt Ltd v Kanchan Mehta [2017] GCtR 602 (SC), it was stated thus : -
"Nature of offence under Section 138 primarily related to a civil wrong".
