In India, there are many law colleges. Some of them are five star law colleges which promise to send students to cooler countries and charge fees for said purpose. It is also no secret that there are teachers teaching in law colleges as employees, whose Bar Council Enrolment continues despite the clear stipulation in Bar Council Ethics Rules regarding full time employees.
Apart from that, the quality of research that academicians in courses of law undertake in India is also well-known. The originality of the research can be gauged when one reads Ph.D. on "Right to Life : A comparative analysis" knowing fully well that right to life is a broad subject. In fact, Professors can be seen telling students about paid products of private companies [called research tools] instead of explaining them how one can reach to the primary source. Similarly, when it comes to Acts, colleges often seem recommending so called "Bare Acts" again of private publishers, instead of asking students to find out official Gazette which remains a highly authentic and absolutely free of cost source.
Recently, Bar Council of India has issued a press release on its website [accsessed on 27 June 2021 at 11:14 a.m. - barcouncilofindia.org] which says that "the new Law Teachers would be required to acquire proper training, only then they would be allowed to teach in any Centers of Legal Education."
