India has many Courts and Hon'ble Supreme Court has special importance.
On 6 July 2021, when the SLP(Crl) 2252/2021 was listed before Hon'ble Supreme Court, then it was noted that nobody on behalf of State of Karnataka appeared despite valid service of notice.
In my view, Government should ensure that the Advocates appear regularly because those Advocates are paid from taxpayer's money.
It is also relevant to note that there is no empirical method devised by State Governments to look at the performance of the Advocates and take remedial measures.
