Agra Case To be Heard by Hon'ble Supreme Court on 22 June 2021
On 22 June 2021, the important case arising out of city of Agra, will be heard by vacation Bench of Hon'ble Supreme Court. In this case, the citation under challenge is [2021] GCtR 1185 (Allahabad) where, after hearing the arguments of the counsel of the applicant, the application filed by the applicant was not allowed and the Courts below were directed to "expedite the proceedings".
It is relevant to note that A.129 of Constitution clearly says that "Supreme Court shall be a court of record and shall have all the powers of such a court including the power to punish for contempt of itself." Hon'ble Allahabad High Court was established before 1900 and it is a very prestigious High Court which had given Chief Justices of India as well.
