POCSO Act, 2012 Accused Granted Bail
Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 -related offences alleged.
On 21 June 2021, Hon'ble Madras High Court has considered the bail application filed by an accused. In this case, accused has argued that he has been falsely implicated in the case. After hearing the Government Advocate, Hon'ble HC had granted bail to the accused. However, this accused has been directed to execute a bond and accused had to report to police station everyday.

It is relevant to note that the provisions of bail are given in Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and according to S.31 of POCSO Act, 2012 "Save as otherwise provided in [POCSO] Act, the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974) (including the provisions as to bail and bonds) shall apply to the proceedings before a Special Court".
