SEBI's Function is "to Regulate Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Take overs of Companies" : NCLAT

There are many regulatory bodies in India. One such is SEBI.

Referring S.11 (2)(h) of SEBI Act, 1992, it has been held in S Gopakumar Nair v OBO Bettermann India [2019] GCtR 1157 (NCLA-Trib) at page no.22 that "under Securities & Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, the SEBI has various powers and functions under Section 11 (2)(h). One of its functions is to regulate substantial acquisition of shares and take overs of companies."
