"Abetment of Suicide" : Accused Acquitted by High Court

 There are many decisions which deal with the issue of abetment of suicide.

In [2019] GCtR 2565, accused was finally acquitted.

Here, allegations were around the fact that the deceased committed suicide and accused persons have committed the offence. Although, in examination in chief, one of the prosecution witness made statements, but that was not sufficient to convict the accused here. 

The investigating officer was also made one of the witness. The role of panchnama in such cases was also noticed in cases of abetment of suicide. What criminal jurisprudence guides us was duly taken note of and there was failure of prosecution. 

To arrive at the conclusion about acquittal, two decisions of Hon'ble Supreme Court were also mentioned.
