Filing of Appeal under Consumer Protection Act, 2019

Filing of Appeal under Consumer Protection Act, 2019

According to S.51 of Consumer Protection Act, 2019, time limit to file appeal is 30 days. 30 days starts from date of Order. S.51 does not says 30 days will start from date of receipt of Order.

S.51 says 50% of the amount has to be deposited for filing appeal in NCDRC.

So, if Rs. 8.43 crores  + Rs. 2.67 crores + Rs. 11 lacs is the amount awarded by SCDRC, then appellant had to deposit more than Rs. 5.5 crores just to file the appeal in NCDRC in terms of S.51 of Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
