Non- Settlement of Insurance Claim in Lok Adalat : Insurance Co. Saddled with Interest Liability
The reduction in compensation amount done by HC was set aside in Maya Singh v. OICL [2025] GCtR 334 (SC) and direction were issued to pay enhanced compensation. In this case, claim was not settled in Lok Adalat before MACT and interest amount from date of filing in addition to principal amount was also directed to be paid by insurance company.
